President Trump Preparing to Meet the King as Protesters Convene in London and Windsor

Morning greetings. The British establishment is presenting a grand welcome for the US president today. This marks the opening day of a rare diplomatic trip, with plans for him to enjoy the day with King Charles at the historic fortress enjoying grand ceremonies the nation can lay on.

But civic Britain are making their voices heard on Trump today, and – perhaps mindful regarding his interest with big crowds and his (supposed) love for public discourse, rallies are planned throughout the UK, the largest gathering taking place in the capital.

Today's Itinerary

  • 11.55am: Donald Trump is due at the castle by helicopter.
  • 12.10pm: A royal escort through the grounds will take place.
  • 12.20pm: Formal receptions will be held.
  • 2pm: Anti-Trump speakers address a rally at Portland Place followed by a procession in the direction of lawmakers.
  • Later in the day: A major network airs a conversation alongside the leader.
  • During the evening: Trump attends a formal meal at Windsor Castle.

Fealty to the influential figure in the United States represents a high-stakes wager. Trade-offs are involved concerning fostering relations in Europe, alongside states that uphold global agreements and norms.

Such individuals which gracefully concede at the ballot box, or take chances through impartial polls. They are not people on whose values and judgment the UK ought to rely economic stability or defensive readiness.

Coverage will emphasize mainly on the official trip today, but I will be covering local issues too.
