Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
