Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering over a crowded California coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Recordings shared on the internet capture the helicopter beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were injured. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
